EnglishThe featured artist of this week is another amazing discover I did in these days: Michelle Summers.
I’m totally in love with her handmade ceramics. All the pieces are hand sculpted and hand painted.
And each illustration on them is one of a kind. Wonderful.
Needless to say I spent an indefinite number of minutes observing these wonders.
Love the fact that the shapes and the surfaces are so different from each other. And the painted illustrations are… WOW!
The combination of lines, faces, animals, geometries. All fused together.
And the collection is pretty huge!
Handmade coffee cups, mugs, bowls, plates, vases… impossible not to find a thing that would be perfect for you or your collection of handmade wonders.

She is also on Etsy but currently the shop is closed – I’ve signed up to the email notification service to be updated as soon as she’ll be back! :))

Totalmente innamorata delle sue ceramiche artigianali. Tutti i pezzi sono scolpiti e dipinti a mano.
E ognuna delle illustrazioni che vedete li rende pezzi unici. Spettacolo.
Inutile dire che ho speso degli indefiniti minuti ad osservare queste meraviglie.
Mi piace che forme e superfici siano così particolari e diverse una dall’altra. E le illustrazioni dipinte sopra… WOW!
La combinazione di linee, facce, animali, geometrie. Tutto fuso insieme.
E la collezione di lavori è anche abbastanza sostanziosa!
Tazzine da caffè, tazze, scodelle, piatti, vasi… impossibile non trovarne una perfetta per voi o la vostra collezione di meraviglie artigianali.

Today my dose of inspiration come from Kate McCarthy from Australia, with these original pieces of art!
Also her sculptures and installations are very interesting.
Love the combination of colors and the detail son the head and on the body, in an alternation of materials.
Kate also creates adorable designs and patterns for tea towels and other objects.
Other paintings in a little bit different style.
So adorably strange and cute!

EnglishHow amazing are these paperclay pendants by Elsa Mora??!
I already talked about this artist a while ago and featured her paper works – here’s the post – together with Lorenzo Duran’s artworks.
These creations are titanically inspiring to me, I couldn’t leave them out of IB features’ collection!
Each paperclay pendant has an original hand painted illustration and is one of a kind. Love to see them all together! This are that kind of handmade-art that makes my heart sing….
And what about this other collection? I have no words. Can’t say what’s my fav… Simply wonderful.
I could spend hours watching all the little details…
Elsa Mora is a multimedia artist – the stunning thing is that she’s super clever with so many different materials and techniques.
It’s a joy to follow her works and see how her art evolves!

Avevo già dedicato un articolo a quest’artista un po’ di tempo fa in questo post per i suoi stupendi lavori di intaglio su carta assieme a quelli di Lorenzo Duran.
E queste sue creazioni sono così stupende che non potevo non aggiungerle alla collezione dei lavori più belli che pubblico qui in IB!
Ogni ciondolo ha un’illustrazione dipinta a mano ed è un pezzo unico.
Adoro vederli tutti insieme! Questo tipo di cose mi fa battere il cuore…
E che mi dite di questa altra collezione? A me fa sentire come una bimba incantata da una favola. E non riesco a dire quale preferisco… Meravigliose.
Come sempre mi perdo – e potrei starci le ore – a osservare tutti i piccoli dettagli…
Elsa Mora si definisce un’artista multimediale – la cosa fantastica è che è bravissima nell’uso di così tanti materiali e tecniche diverse.
E’ una gioia seguire i suoi lavori e vedere come la sua arte evolve!

EnglishDo you remember the collage I shared some time ago on the IB Facebook page into our “Handmade Wonders” album? One of the most adorable find ever. In case you missed it, you can take a look at it here.
I immediately felt in love with The Awesome Project and it was only at the beginning!
Now this amazing duo is back, with new awesome porcelain creations, and I LOVE them all!!!
How they describe their project:
“An experimental journey of a multidisciplinary creative duo (illustrator Madalina Andronic and designer Claudiu Stefan) through the awesome milky-silky world of porcelain, with a hint of Romanian folklore. Our wish is to create heart-to-heart, beautifully adorned decorative objects for individuals and homes. All the pieces are designed and hand-decorated individually, using porcelain, underglaze colours, stoneware glazes and love.
Dishwasher safe.”
Is there anything to add?
I adore the idea behind this project, totally love that the design has been inspired by their Romanian tradition and reinterpreted into contemporary accessories.
They started with objects for the home and now the collection become wearable: hand painted porcelain bangles, rings, and collars!
The result is amazing.

ItalianoVi ricordate quel collage che avevo fatto un po’ di tempo fa per la Pagina Facebook di IB nell’album “Handmade Wonders”? Uno dei ‘find’ più belli. Nel caso ve lo foste persi, lo trovate qui.
Mi sono subito innamorata di questo Awesome Project, ed era solo all’inizio!
Ora questo fantastico duo è tornato con nuove bellissime creazioni in porcellana, e le AMO tutte!!!
Loro lo descrivono così:
“Un viaggio sperimentale di un duo creativo multidisciplinare (l’illustratrice Madalina Andronic e il designer Claudiu Stefan) atrraverso il bellissimo mondo latteo-setoso della porcellana, con un pizzico di folklore rumeno. Il nostro deisderio è quello di creare cuore a cuore, oggetti decorativi per le persone e le case. Tutti i pezzi sono progettati e decorati a mano individualmente usando porcellana, colori, smalti e amore.
Sono lavabili in lavastoviglie.”
Resta qualcosa da aggiungere?
Mi piace un sacco l’idea dietro a questo progetto, adoro il fatto che il design sia stato ispirato alla loro tradizione rumena e reinterpretato in accessori contemporanei.
Hanno iniziato con degli oggetti per la casa e ora la collezione diventa indossabile: bracciali di porcellana dipinti a mano, anelli, collarini!
Il risultato è stupendo.

EnglishI can only say that I spent almost an hour to browse through all the ceramic creations by Jenny Mendes before choosing the ones that could better represent her work and style.
I’m still convinced that these aren’t enough but hope they can give you an idea of her endless creativity and talent.
The designs too are so various that despite having a common denominator they seem to come from different hand. It’s amazing!
And also the color palette is always very different.
Love this ability to mix, change, re-elaborate and make such wonderful multi-style works.
At this point you should be super curious and thirsty for inspiration - see the rest!
Enjoy and be inspired :)
ItalianoVi dico solo che ho impiegato quasi un ora per vedere tutte le creazioni in ceramica di Jenny Mendes prima di riuscire a scegliere quelle che potevano meglio rappresentare il suo lavoro e il suo stile.
Sono ancora convinta che queste non siano abbastanza, ma spero che possano darvi un idea della sua infinita creatività e talento.
I design sono così vari che nonostante abbiano un comune denominatore, sembrano provenire da mani diverse. Meraviglia!
Ed anche gli schemi di colore sono sempre molto differenti.
Adoro questa abilità di mixare, cambiare, rielaborare e realizzare lavori così stupendamente multi-stile.
A questo punto la vostra curiosità e sete di ispirazione dovrebbe spingervi a voler vedere subito il resto!

EnglishThere are crafts for which you seem to lack the right words. The perfect ones to describe the beauty that comes from ideas, from the combination of technique and creativity, from the ‘ doing by hand‘.
When I find these kind of works I stay for minutes with my eyes wide open; it’s a kind of amazement, always the same, but every time different.
Karen Barbé comes from Chile, and it’s a textile designer.
She creates amazing embroidery, hand printed fabrics and other hand woven accessories.
Love how everything looks great, both on simple patterns and more complicated designs.
The one below is an adorable hand painted pattern she made.

ItalianoCi sono lavori artigianali per i quali ti sembra di non avere le parole giuste. Quelle perfette per descrivere la bellezza che scaturisce dalle idee, dalla combinazione di tecnica e creatività, dal ‘fare a mano‘.
Quando trovo lavori di questo tipo resto ad occhi spalancati; è una sorta di stupore, sempre lo stesso, ma sempre diverso.
Karen Barbé viene dal Cile, ed è una designer tessile.
Crea bellissimi ricami, stoffe stampate a mano e altri accessori tessuti a mano.
Mi piace come ogni progetto sia meraviglioso, sia quelli dai pattern semplici che con design più complicati.
Quello qui sotto è un adorabile stoffa stampata a mano con una pattern creata da lei.

Ovviamente questo è finito dritto nella mia lista delle “cose da fare”.

I LOVE boxes full of things!! Maybe because it’s a bit like opening a multi gift package!
These adorable kits contain: a notebook, a brooch in a lovely cardboard box and 5 illustrated postcards.
The carboard cameras are amazing works too!
I’m imagining an exhibition entirely made of cardboad creations… woah!!
The “Oupas!” are three creative girls from Porto, Portugal.

English I saw these screen printed handmade collars some days ago via Piterest, I guess, and I immediately saved them on my fav to share here (in case you don’t know ZIB Textile already).
I think that the designs that Inga and Irena creates on these works are adorable and I find interesting the idea of drawing over a pattern.
The maker behind ZIB are two young Latvian textile artists.

ItalianoQualche giorno fa, credo su Pinterest, ho visto questi collarini handmade serigrafati, e li ho subito salvati tra i preferiti per condividerli qui (nel caso non conosceste già ZIB Textile ).
