My Miniature Sketches and the addiction to calligraphy

EnglishHappy Saturday guys! Just wanted to share a quick post to show you a bit about what I’m doing lately – in case you were wondering during these days of ’silence’.

For some months I’ve started to study the wonderful art of calligraphy, it’s a passion of mine since I was a little girl but until now I had never thought about my fun to write as something that could become a creative expression to combine to my addiction for the handmade.

Lately while practicing with ink and nibs (little video here), I’ve also started drawing more and trying to learn new things and techniques, fighting with stylization and perspective and with the use of watercolors that’s a medium that’s pretty new to me and that’s totally capturing my creative senses – despite the difficulties to learn to use them almost from scratch!

That’s why on my personal Facebook page they’ve tentatively started to appear some calligraphed things and some drawings, such as this “Miniature Sketch” that I’d like to be the first of a series – apropos what do you think about this idea? I’d love to know your opinion :)

ItalianoBuon Sabato amici!

Abbracci multipli,
Irene

  • What gorgious mini paintings! I love the ones with the figs most I hope you will post more. Calligraphy is something I would like to master too.

    • Hi Manon! Happy you like my mini painting and super glad to know you liked the figs illustration too since it’s just a little exercise I made to practice with watercolors! Calligraphy is an awesome art, it’s really thrilling me!

  • mi piacciono tantissimo!!! :)
personalmente poi io amo tutto ciò che è “miniature”.
    bel lavoro, davvero.

Molto belli i tuoi disegni!
