 In my opinion the best thing to create an original, warm and unique atmosphere for our homes and gifts for Christmas is the handmade. For this I’ve collected some of the most lovely Christmas ornaments I’ve found in the handmade community. They’re also great ideas for some DIY  New wonders to fall in love with! I was surfing the web during my moment of research and inspiration and…  When I saw this handmade ceramic and the amazing 3D background from HOTO (a small pottery studio located in Buenos Aires, Argentina), I had a big smile on face and I was all excited: how nice!  Happy Friday guys, here I am with my weekly picks! This week I wanted to go by colors. I focused on turquoise + red  The first photo is a Ceramic Tea Set consisting of a cup of tea and a teapot. Yes, you got it right. The first time I saw them I didn’t realize it immediately. I was fascinated and very impressed, I tried to imagine all the work behind the creation of these wonderful pieces of art.  I think in this last year, on 2010, there are some things and details that are recurrent in some way: clouds, drops, owls, bears, birds… In 2011 instead I’m noticing that lots of creatives are using feathers as subject. There seems to be some sort of “trend”, even behind art. Do you think is so? What subjects in your opinion will be most used and reinvented by artists becoming the new  When Jena from Miss Modish introduced me the Redraven’s art and told me that these lovely works would be perfect for Imaginative Bloom, she was right. Did you already know the ceramic heads of Claire Loder from England? It’s almost an hour I surf on her site and blog to see all her works and the details of these faces.  The first time I saw these fantastic works it took me a while to figure out how they were created. These original designs are realized with thread emboidered onto silk and then attached to porcelains and ceramics.
