My pyramid masks props for Your Graduation music video

EnglishTa-daaaa!
As I told you yesterday on Facebook the thing I was working on these past weeks is ready and so finally I can show it to you!

I was asked to create 7 handmade pyramid masks props for the music video of “Your Graduation” song by After Crash.

When I received the proposal for this work from Francesco Brancacci, visualized the story that would be created and listened to the song… I said YES!

I loved the song at first listen and I liked the idea of the masks to represent a sort of standardized society, so I was extremely curious to collaborate and see the final result of the video.

Here it is!! :)

It’s been one of that works that looks simple and pretty quick to realize at first sight, but at the end it took me longer than expected to obtain the result I wanted and that they needed for the shooting.

Below I’ve made a little collage with some pictures of the process.
The photos of the steps before these are missing (ouch! they has been the hardest part because I had to find the best way to make the pyramids firm, with the right dimension and the most smooth finish possible, also along the sides).

Well this how they came out after some tests.

It’s exciting to see something that I’ve created with my hand being used by others to make a bigger project that involves many other people, places and fields such as shooting, photography, music…

After Crash - Any Dyslexic Way To Say HelloI really like how the video turned out and isn’t absolutely GREAT this song?

If it were up to me, I’ll put it straight on all the biggest radio stations out there!

The After Crash group is on Facebook and on Bandcamp.com with the Album Any Dyslexic Way To Say “Hello”.

ItalianoTa-daaaa!

After Crash - Any Dyslexic Way To Say HelloMi piace molto com’è venuto il video e la canzone…

Any Dyslexic Way To Say “Hello”.

  • Ha, this is fantastic! It’s amazing how expressive and powerful those simple pyramids are. I kept thinking that it’s the triumph of youth and a fresh look on life over the ‘perverse’ power of established knowledge. I really have no idea if this has anything to do with anything but I enjoyed your work very much. Congratulations!

    • Ersi I think your description of the story is perfect! You have summed up the mood and concept of what the video is about in a way I would not have been able to do!!

(Well it’s well known that I have not the gift of synthesis LoL)

I’m really glad you like the final result of the work, your words make my day! Thanks :))

Hi Irene, I am very excited to see what you’ve been up to, and I am so glad that the end result is so beautiful it justified your hard work and made you proud. I really like the song as well :))
    Well done :)
Thank you for sharing it with us.
    xoxo
p.s. If you think that your lab is messy…you have not seen mess hehehe

    • LoL Christina!! Well the images with finished pyramids seem all clean and white (I cleared up the table for the shoot – this is the truth :P) but I can assure the rest of the lab is still a big mess…

I’m collecting all kind of containers and boxes to arrange the room. Woooo, sooner or later it will be presentable.

BTW thanks for the lovely feedback, I’m really curious to hear the ‘perspective’ of other creative souls. Thanks a lot, you’re always super kind :)
